Description

Please note that the 27″x54″ flag design is temporarily sold out. We expect to restock in 2021.

Gunni came to the Caithness at the end of the 12th century when his wife, Ragnhild, inherited estates there from her brother, Harald, Jarl of Orkney. His wife was descended from St. Ragnvald, founder of the great cathedral of St. Magnus at Kirkwall. Gunn, whose name itself meant ‘war’, descended from Viking adventurers. The first chief of Clan Gunn to appear in records was George Gunn, who was coroner of Caithness in the 15th century. The Gunns were never a large clan and often found themselves in conflict with several more powerful neighbors, such as the MacKays and the Keith’s.

Highland Clan Flags are intended for indoor or outdoor use. The flags are made from 70 denier high tenacity nylon, chosen for durability and ability to meet our exacting color standards. A rigourous process ensures colours are locked in for long use, and all edges are double stitched for added strength.

Our clan flags are packaged in robust, clear plastic sleeves that both display and protect the contents – perfect for gifts!

Each package includes a fine printed scroll offering an outline of your Clan’s history.
